At St. Andrew’s Catholic Primary School, Indonesian is the language that is offered to the students. Learning Indonesian provides students with communication skills as well as an improvement in student’s literacy and cognitive reasoning. At St Andrew’s we aim to foster a ”love of the language and culture of Indonesia”.
There are many benefits to learning a second language including but not limited to
- building confidence,
- improved understanding of first language
- Improved memory and
- decision making.
Culturally significant days and events are celebrated at our school and the children are encouraged to communicate in Indonesian.
